The moment Lorry Eible saw the cute little Cape Cod-style house on Siesta Key in Sarasota, FL in 1972, she knew her dream store, Foxy Lady, would become a reality. Although we started as a beachwear store that catered to the tourists and locals of Siesta Key, we quickly branched out to become something more unique. At the time, no one knew that there was a market for high fashion in Siesta Key – no one except Lorry, that is. As Lorry continued bringing fashions to Sarasota from designers ranging from New York to Los Angeles and around the globe, word spread and so did the need for a larger location, which is the current Foxy Lady Siesta Key store that is now run and partnered by Lori Ann Steiner, who has been a part of the Foxy Lady family for many, many years. As the demand for impeccable service and trend-setting fashion grew in Sarasota, another Foxy Lady location emerged. Foxy Lady West on St. Armands Circle opened in 1984, and quickly became our flagship store catering to clientele from all over the world. Each store has a talented and professional staff that is ready to help you with all your wardrobe making decisions.
THE HISTORY OF SIESTA KEY
Siesta Key was formed out of sands from the Appalachian Mountain. Before becoming a beloved tourist destination, it was a quiet island used primarily for fishing and farming. The Tocobaga and Calusa Native American tribes originally inhabited the area. European settlers arrived in 1846 when Captain Louis Roberts built his home on the island.
Today, Siesta Key maintains its charm and natural beauty, blending a strong sense of community with diverse attractions, shops, and dining options. Renowned for its award-winning beaches, the island invites visitors to enjoy its unique mix of tranquility, culture, and local flavors.
